First ever ‘Misery Run’
Went back to MacArthur, ran the same 4.1 mile course as last night, but did it with an undershirt, a t-shirt, and two sweat shirts, plus sweat pants and a black baseball hat. Drank about 3 water bottles (16 oz). REALLY HOT but awesome.

First run back!
It’s been 3 full weeks since my last run (a somewhat ill-advised 5 miler barefoot on the beach that exacerbated my Achilles pain). I had been feeling good for a while and so I decided tonight was the night. The run felt very good. I warmed up by walking then slow jogging 2 laps, then did one lap running, 3 MacArthur Tours (mostly on grass around the school property) and then finished with another lap on the track. No pain really, so I’m very encouraged.

CrossFit WOD: Cindy
Did the CrossFit WOD ‘Cindy’ at Jones Beach today. I was looking for a PR but it wasn’t in the cards.
As many rounds in 20 minutes of: 5 pull-ups, 10 push-ups, 15 squats
I managed 20 rounds + 5 pull-ups + 5 push-ups. I decided to finish out the full 21 rounds and did it in an extra 40 seconds. Next time I’m shooting for 22 rounds!

Jones Beach run
On my way home from Delaware/Maryland this evening I stopped at Jones Beach and did some barefoot running along the water. I meant to go only 20 minutes, but wound up stretching that, which my achilles was NOT happy about. The first 20-25 minutes felt great, but there was definitely achilles pain on the way back in. Some time off is needed to heal up.
